Cycling Pulse has partnered with leading online training platform Zwift on a weekly show focusing on eRacing, the new and fast-growing indoor cycling discipline.

The Brief

With the launch of the KISS Super League, the first ever professional esports cycling league, Zwift wanted to engage fans with eRacing and the new world of virtual cycling with a weekly magazine-style show. The objective was to keep fans up-to-date with all the action from the KISS Super League with highlights, interviews and punditry and immerse viewers in the virtual cycling experience with features designed to educate cyclists as to the new sport as well as the benefits of indoor training and racing.

The Cycling Esports Show

Cycling Pulse produced a series of seven episodes with features that included a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to actually ride in the KISS Super League with a pro rider from UCI Continental team, Canyon dhb, an interview and feature with a rider from the world’s first professional eRacing team, Canyon ZCC, and a Zwift race between the show’s two presenters. Interviews with race-winning riders from across the world were obtained to bring the virtual racing experience to life as much as possible with viewers. Cycling influencer, Keira McVitty, was engaged as the show’s co-host.

The team at Cycling Pulse developed a distinct visual identity designed to be eye-catching and fun while staying within Zwift’s brand guidelines. This included the show’s logo, Facebook and YouTube video thumbnails and custom motion graphics used in the video content.

Each episode was published on the Cycling Pulse Facebook page and YouTube channel with teasers published as Stories on the Cycling Pulse Instagram account. Short social edits for Facebook and Instagram were also produced and published mid-week between shows. These included 60 second highlights from the men’s and women’s leagues and segments explaining how certain key aspects of virtual racing work.
